Avoid counting the same fee twice
Some repair quotes include the diagnostic charge or credit it toward completed work. Others do not. Ask the repair provider which items are included before entering the additional-cost field. Use the same currency for all amounts; this tool does not retrieve prices or exchange rates.
Price alone is not the decision
Warranty coverage, the certainty of the diagnosis, availability of parts and whether the work restores safe operation can outweigh a small price difference. Ask what happens if the quoted repair does not resolve the reported fault. A numerical percentage cannot answer those questions.
Do not assume a universal replacement threshold
There is no automatic rule here that repair below a certain percentage is always best. A low quote for an unconfirmed diagnosis is different from a warranted repair for a known fault. The calculator intentionally avoids invented service-life estimates and does not direct you toward a paid product.
