If water stopped immediately after a filter change, compare the supported water path without the filter before blaming the pump. Philips describes trapped air and filter preparation as relevant checks. Do not keep running an abnormally loud pump without water flow.
Which observation matches?
Choose the closest observation. The complete decision list remains below.
Flow stopped at the first drink after installing a new filter
Review filter preparation and seating; the timing makes this a useful first comparison.
Normal hot water returns during the supported filter-out check
The filter/preparation becomes a stronger suspect, though the observation is not proof of a particular part defect.
There is still no water without the filter
Stop repeated pump attempts. Tank seating, an air issue or another fault needs the broader no-flow route.
Water flows but the AquaClean light remains
Water flow and electronic activation are separate. Follow the activation instructions for the exact control panel.
Safe checks, in order
- Turn the machine off. Follow Philips' directions for removing the filter, filling the tank and reseating it.
- Use the supported hot-water procedure only while the unit can move water safely. Stop for persistent no-flow or an abnormal pump sound.
- Prepare the AquaClean cartridge as Philips specifies, including releasing trapped air before fitting it. Do not use a dry, unprepared filter as a repeated test.
- Reinstall and complete the model-specific rinse and activation instructions. Record whether flow changed before and after installation.

Why this is more useful than a reset
A reset cannot physically prepare an air-filled cartridge. The filter-out comparison asks a narrower question: did the supply behavior change when that newly added component was removed? Make only the supported comparison and do not bypass other safety systems.
A light does not measure flow
A recognized or activated filter may still be incorrectly prepared; conversely, water may flow while the system still needs activation. Keep these observations in separate lines in your diagnostic log. Do not infer that a warning light guarantees either clear water flow or completed descaling.

Stop if flow remains absent, the pump is unusually loud, the tank leaks or the machine shows a persistent error. Contact Philips before chemical cycles or internal work.
Questions this diagnosis does not skip
Should I run many cups to clear an airlock?
Follow the limited manufacturer procedure; do not keep a non-flowing pump running in hope that it clears.
Can I use any similar-looking filter?
No. Confirm approval and the correct part number for the full model code.
