Record the complete panel through one repeating sequence, plus what happened just before it. A clip of one blinking light without the model or operating phase can lead to the wrong maintenance procedure. Do not deliberately reproduce an unsafe fault to obtain footage.

Film the whole control panel without pressing more buttons.

The warning happened during a maintenance cycle

Record the cycle name, current stage and whether any chemical remains in the tank.

The machine leaks, sprays or smells hot

Do not run it again for a better recording. Send your existing observation and a powered-off photograph.

You are unsure of the model

Locate the label when the machine is off, cool and safe to handle. Do not tilt a hot full machine.

Safe checks, in order

  1. Record the complete brand/model code and revision or regional suffix. Keep serial numbers private when posting publicly.
  2. Frame the panel so the button labels and neighboring lights are visible. Avoid putting the phone near steam or above an open brew chamber.
  3. Capture one complete repeating pattern. Describe simultaneous lights, alternating groups and pauses in words as well.
  4. Add the starting state: cold startup, brew request, grinder use, steaming, cleaning, descaling or shutdown. Share the clip with official support or attach its filename to your diagnostic log.

A useful example caption

"BES500, after startup, no chemical in tank; one group lights, then another; pattern repeats." Replace that example with your actual observations rather than copying the supposed meaning of a light. Support can match the pattern more confidently when you preserve context.

Why an unedited clip helps

A still image can miss alternating groups, and automatic camera exposure can change how a color looks. Keep the original clip for support and avoid filters. A written description remains valuable when video quality is poor or uploading is not possible.

What not to publish

Blur personal details, receipts, account screens and serial numbers in public posts. The local diagnostic-log tool does not upload your entries, but any destination where you later share the exported file has its own privacy rules.

Stop and obtain help when

Never recreate smoke, sparking, overheating, hot spray or a housing leak for a video. Document from a safe, powered-off state and obtain help.
